Cobb County Championships
This past weekend, the Mustangs were fighting it out at Mountain View Aquatic. Starting Thursday, the divers were diving against the best in the county. Friday, the swimming preliminaries were on the calendar, with the finals for both JV and Varsity playing out on Saturday.
The KMHS team overall swam well all weekend. The Mustang Men swam especially well. Fighting against the best in the county, the KMHS Mustang men were leading the way after the preliminaries, taking first place in seevral races early in the meet. Numerous swimmers were breaking personal bests, and the meet looked like it would go well.
On Saturday, for the finals, the team again was swimming well. Kennesaw came out strong, but Walton was looking like the dominant team as the day went on. The Kennesaw Men were swimming well, and were looking like a definate contander.
At the end of the meet, and the scores were tallied, the MUSTANG Team did well. The KMHS Men took 2 nd Place, while the women came up in 10th.
The team came in 5th overall. This is our 16th top 5 finish in County. Wow!!!!
Congratulations to Brett, Connor, Ben and Zach for breaking the county record in the 400 Free Relay, as well as winning the Gold in the 200 Medley Relay. Also congrats to those who got personal bests! You guys swam great.
