State Swim Championships

Congratulations to the Mustang Swimming and Diving program for their wonderful performances this weekend at the State Championship meet, held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. The diving competition was held on Thursday night, swim preliminaries were Friday night, and finals were held Saturday night.

This was the 1st time in school history that both the men and women team placed in the Top 10 at state in the same year. Unofficially, the TEAM finished in 6th Place in 7A; the highest finish in the history of the program.

How did the women do?

The girls finished in 7th place, for their 4th straight top 10 finish at state. They also finished 2nd of the 7A teams from Cobb County.

The 200 Medley Relay of Addie Rose Bullock, Brinson Griffeth, Gabby Auerbach, and Jenna Ardagna finished in 6th place.

The 400 Free Relay of Gabby Auerbach, Brinson Griffeth, Amanda Ware, and Addie Rose Bullock finished in 7th place.

Addie Rose Bullock won the state championship in the 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard backstroke, setting a new school new in the backstroke. This is Addie's third consecutive, or back-to-back-to-back state title in the Butterfly!!!

Gabby Auerbach placed 6th in the 500 yard freestyle and 7th in the 200 yard freestyle.

Kyler Dixon won the state championship in the 1 meter diving event.

Amanda Ware placed 13th in the 200 yard IM and 16th in the 100 yard breaststroke

Lanie Cantrell - placed 9th in the 1 meter diving event

How did the men do?

The boys placed 8th for their first top 10 finish in 11 years and were the top finisher of the 7A Cobb County schools.

The 200 Medley Relay of Ben McClain, Connor Haigh, Aidan Sherlock and Brett Reason finished in 10th place, with the 4th fastest time in school history.

The 200 Free Relay of Aidan Sherlock, Zach Lowe, Bowen Spackman, and Connor Haigh finished in 11th place, with the 2nd fastest time in school history.

The 400 Free Relay of Ben McClain, Brett Reason, Aidan Sherlock, and Zach Lowe finished in 8th place, with the 3rd fastest time in school history.

Ben McClain placed 7th in the 200 yard freestyle, with a new school record, and 8th in the 100 freestyle.

Connor Haigh placed 6th in the 200 yard IM and 2nd in the 100 breaststroke, both with school record times.

Karsten Dixon placed 5th and Braden Hester finished 10th in diving.

Zach Lowe placed 18th in the 100 yard freestyle

Brett Reason placed 19th in the 100 yard freestyle

Aidan Sherlock placed 16th and Adam O’Brien placed 18th in the 100 yard butterfly
