Spartan-Mustang Sprint Champions

Congratulations to the Mustang Swimming and Diving team for their victory in the Spartan-Mustang Sprints on Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs took first place in the men's, ladies, and team competitions.

The Mustang men won 6 of the 9 relays, while finishing 2nd in two others.

The 8 x 25 Free Relay of Brett Reason, Ben McClain, Cory McNeir, Bowen Spackman, Zach Lowe, Adam Ware, Connor Haigh, and Aidan Sherlock broke the school and meet record with a time of 1:23.46. The previous record was set in 2014.

The mens 200 Butterfly Relay of Ben McClain, Zach Lowe, Brett Reason, and Aidan Sherlock broke the school and meet record with a time of 1:40.39.

The 200 Breaststroke relay of Brett Reason, Adam O’Brien, Sam Wells, and Connor Haigh broke the school and meet record with a time of 2:02.11. The previous record was set in 2011.

The girls won 3 relays, including the 8 x 25 Free Relay, the 200 Breaststroke Relay, and the 400 Free Relay, which gave the girls the meet victory.

The Coed 8 x 25 Medley Relay of Addie Rose Bullock, Ben McClain, Brett Reason, Brinson Griffeth, Zach Lowe, Gabby Auerbach, Jenna Ardagna, and Zach Lowe broke the meet and school record with a time of 1:39.23, breaking the old school record by over 6 seconds.

Overall, the Mustangs won 10 of the 19 relays.

This was the Mustangs 6th Invitational victory (out of 7 invitationals) this season, the most ever in the history of the program.

After the regular meet, the senior relay swim was crazy, with the Kennesaw team wearing animal (often fur) onesies. I amsure the heavy fur hurt their times.

Thanks to the team for working so hard... and thanks to the coaches for making the team a success. Also, thank you to all the volunteers who have helped throughout the year.

The Mustangs head to Georgia Tech next weekend for the State Championship meet.
